This photo shows the blue ethernet wires and the white motorized window covering power wires for the Hunter Douglas blinds. There are over 50 individual ethernet wires that are throughout the home for items like access points, computers, printers, wall mounted power-over-internet smart speakers, the three Span smart circuit breaker panels, televisions, sound system and other items. Not only is ethernet faster, but it is also the most secure communication means. The access points will help with other devices that are Wi-Fi only, such as the Signature Kitchen Suite and LG appliances, Swidget smart outlets and switches, Tresco Lighting, Hunter Douglas blinds, and of course, cell phones and tablets. Smart technology is a must for a Living In Place Institute Idea Home! And to help future-proof the home, the lighter blue tube is a flexible conduit that goes to the garage to allow for any future technology that may be employed in the Idea Home, such a fiber optic communication, which is not currently available in Louisville.
